Short answer

Basic Tinder is free, but Plus, Gold and Platinum are subscriptions that renew automatically. Tinder publishes no price list, and its terms say its pricing varies with several factors. On the Finnish App Store on 30 September 2026, Tinder Gold had three prices between 13.99 and 27.49 € and Platinum cost 32.99 €, but the list gives no period length. You cancel where you bought: in the App Store, on Google Play or at tinder.com. Under Tinder’s terms, a subscriber living in the EU is entitled to a full refund within 14 days of the subscription starting.

Tinder’s price in 2026 — what the App Store and Google Play show

Tinder does not publish a price list on its own site. Its page describing the subscription tiers lists the features of Plus, Gold and Platinum but not a single price. The price is shown only at the moment of purchase, in the app or at tinder.com. The app store page, however, is open to anyone without an account, and prices are visible there.

Tinder’s page on the Finnish App Store has a list of in-app purchases. We checked it on 30 September 2026. It had ten rows: Tinder Gold five times at three different prices (13.99 €, 16.49 € and 27.49 €), Tinder Platinum once at 32.99 €, and a single Boost four times at three prices (4.99 €, 7.99 € and 9.99 €). Tinder Plus was not on the list at all, so the list is not the full price list.

The biggest gap is what the list leaves out: the length of the period. The row «Tinder Gold 13,99 €» could mean a week, a month or something else, and the list does not tell you which. That is why we do not convert these figures into a monthly price or compare them with other services’ monthly prices. It would be a guess, and a guess should not be presented as a price.

Tinder’s page on the Finnish Google Play does not list individual products. Its details give a price range for in-app purchases of 0.29 to 339.99 € when billed through Google Play. The range shows that the most expensive items cost hundreds of euros, but not which item costs what.

Hence a simple practical tip: before you confirm a purchase, check the price and the period on the payment screen and take a screenshot. That is the only price that applies to you, and you will need it if you later ask for a refund or are surprised by a renewal charge.

Why the price of Tinder Gold varies

On 30 September 2026 Google’s Finnish suggestions included «tinder gold hinta vaihtelee» (Tinder Gold price varies). Two sources answer the question and are worth reading together: Tinder’s own terms and a 2024 press release from the European Commission.

In section 8 of its terms (in force from 1 March 2026) Tinder says that it operates worldwide and that its pricing varies based on several factors. The same section says it often offers promotional prices that can vary by region, length of subscription, bundle size, past purchases, account activity and other factors, and that it regularly tests new features and payment options. In practice two people in the same town may see the same subscription at different prices, and neither sees the other’s.

The European Commission and national consumer authorities held a dialogue with Tinder that began in July 2022, led by the Swedish Consumer Agency and the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets. The Commission’s press release of 7 March 2024 says: «Tinder has committed to inform consumers that discounts they propose for premium services are personalised by automated means.» It adds that Tinder uses automated means, for example, to identify users who showed little or no interest in its premium services at a standard price and then offer them personalised discounts.

Following the dialogue, Tinder committed by mid-April 2024 to three things: not to apply age-based personalised pricing without telling consumers clearly and upfront; to tell consumers clearly when discounts on premium services are personalised by automated means; and to explain why they are being offered a personalised discount, for example because they were not willing to buy at the standard rate.

The release also says that until April 2022 Tinder offered lower prices for its premium services based on age without informing users, and that it stopped the practice before the investigation began. As background, the Commission cites a 2022 study by the Swedish consumer association: Tinder charged different people different prices, and no clear pattern emerged as to which variables determined the price.

What this means for you: if a friend pays less for Gold, neither of you has necessarily made a mistake. If the app offers you a discount, under the commitments it should say whether the discount is personalised by automated means. And even if the discount is genuine, always check what the renewal will cost — more on that in the section on promotional prices.

What free Tinder does and what Plus, Gold and Platinum add

Tinder can be used for free. Its App Store description says: «If you don’t choose to purchase Tinder Plus®, Tinder Gold™, or Tinder Platinum™, you can simply continue using Tinder for free.» According to Google Play, the app contains ads. By an Yle survey, 60 % of everyone who has tried a dating service used Tinder.

Tinder describes the differences between the tiers on its own page. Plus gives unlimited likes and unlimited rewinds (undoing your last swipe), Passport, which lets you swipe outside your own town, ad-free swiping and incognito mode. Gold includes all of that plus seeing who likes you, weekly Super Likes and one Boost a month. Platinum adds prioritised likes on top of Gold.

Besides subscriptions, Tinder sells virtual items separately, such as Boosts and Super Likes. Under section 8c of the terms, purchases of virtual items are final and are not refunded. Worth knowing before you buy Boosts or Super Likes: the 14-day refund described below applies, in the terms, to subscriptions.

We have not tested Tinder’s paid tiers and do not publish our own user experiences — that is also our answer to the search «tinder kokemuksia» (Tinder experiences). Everything on this page comes from Tinder’s terms and help pages, the app store pages and statements by authorities, and every fact has a source at the end of the page.

Your subscription renews by itself — how to cancel it

All three tiers are subscriptions that renew automatically until cancelled. In Tinder’s terms this is the first thing said in the section on purchases, and Tinder’s help page repeats it. The App Store description says that «your account will be charged for renewal within 24-hours prior to the end of the current period.» So cancel at least a day before the period ends, and preferably earlier.

The single most important point: you cancel where you bought. Under Tinder’s terms, cancellation of a subscription made with an Apple ID is handled by Apple, not Tinder, and one made on Google Play by Google. So Tinder’s customer service is not the right address if you subscribed through an app store.

Where you bought shows in the order number in your confirmation email. According to Tinder’s help page, a number starting with MK means you bought in the iOS app and Apple bills you. GPA means a purchase in the Android app billed through Google Play. TNDR means the subscription was made at tinder.com or in the Android app with a direct card payment. This also answers the search «tinder tilausnumero» (Tinder order number).

  • iPhone (MK): Settings > your name > Subscriptions > Tinder > Cancel Subscription.
  • Android and Google Play (GPA): Google Play > profile icon > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions > Tinder > Cancel subscription.
  • tinder.com or direct card payment (TNDR): log in at tinder.com or open the app > profile icon > payment account settings > cancel.

Two common mistakes

The first is deleting the app or the account. According to Tinder’s help page neither cancels the subscription, and Google says the same in its own help: «Tilausta ei peruta, vaikka poistaisit sovelluksen asennuksen.» — a subscription is not cancelled even if you uninstall the app. So cancel the subscription first and delete the account only after that.

The second is having more than one subscription. According to the help page each subscription has its own renewal date, and each has to be cancelled separately. Check your subscriptions list to make sure no second Tinder subscription is left there.

After cancelling, the benefits stay until the end of the paid period and no new charge is made. Apple’s own help puts it this way: «Jos peruutuspainiketta ei ole tai näet vanhentumisviestin punaisella tekstillä, tilaus on jo peruttu.» — if there is no cancel button or you see an expiry message in red, the subscription is already cancelled.

The 14-day refund — Tinder’s terms promise your money back in full

This is the most important part of the page, which is why it comes before the affiliate button in the text. Google’s Finnish suggestions also include «tinder gold hyvitys» (Tinder Gold refund) and «tinder ostoksen palautus» (Tinder purchase refund). The answer is in Tinder’s own terms, in section 8d. Under it, a subscriber living in the EU, the EEA, the United Kingdom or Switzerland is entitled, under local law, to a full refund within 14 days of the subscription starting. The terms add that the 14-day period begins when the subscription begins.

Keep two things apart. Cancelling stops the renewal but does not return what you have already paid: according to Tinder’s help page, cancelling does not entitle you to a retroactive refund. A refund is a separate request, and it has to be made within 14 days. In Finnish law the first is termination (irtisanominen) and the second is using the right of withdrawal (peruuttaminen). The cancellation helper separates the two and helps you write the message.

Where you ask for a refund again depends on where you bought. Under the terms, a refund request for a subscription made with an Apple ID is handled by Apple, not Tinder, and you contact the external service directly. For other purchases, the terms send you to Tinder’s customer service.

  • App Store (MK): sign in at reportaproblem.apple.com, choose Request a refund, pick a reason and the Tinder subscription, and submit. According to Apple’s help, allow 24–48 hours for the request status to update.
  • Google Play (GPA): request a refund through Google Play. According to Google’s own help, contacting the app developer directly — Tinder, here — is often the fastest way to resolve it.
  • tinder.com or direct card payment (TNDR): contact Tinder’s customer service with your order number and the email address or phone number linked to your account. State clearly that you are withdrawing from the contract.

What the law and Apple’s terms say

The law starts from the same 14 days. Under chapter 6, section 14 of the Finnish Consumer Protection Act, a consumer may withdraw from a distance contract by notifying the trader with a withdrawal form or in another unambiguous way no later than 14 days after concluding a contract for a service or for digital content supplied electronically. The law also has exceptions, but you do not need to go into them here: Tinder’s own terms promise an EU subscriber a full refund, and you can cite section 8d directly in your request.

Apple’s own terms contain the same 14-day right of withdrawal, which you use under Apple Account > Purchase History with the Withdraw Transaction option. For subscriptions the terms add one qualification: «Subscription services can only be cancelled following the initial subscription.» We read this as meaning that the right attaches to the first purchase and not to every renewal. Tinder’s terms point the same way: the 14-day period begins when the subscription begins.

Before you dispute the charge with your bank

Under Tinder’s terms, a chargeback or other reversal of a payment can lead Tinder to close your account immediately. So ask for the refund through the right channel first, and keep screenshots and messages. If your request goes unanswered or the answer does not satisfy you, free help is available from kuluttajaneuvonta, the consumer advice service of the KKV.

Where the button below leads

Here we state our own position: Tinder is not our partner, and we receive nothing from Tinder. The button after this section leads to a competing Finnish service, E-kontakti, and if you register through it we receive a commission. That is why this section comes before the button: it is what a Tinder subscriber needs most, and it must not be left out just because the link leads elsewhere.

The service has no English interface — none of the services we have checked does. The button is for readers looking to meet a Finn who are ready for Finnish.affiliate link: Have a look at E-kontakti.fi →

A promotional price renews at the full price

The second thing worth knowing before you buy concerns discounts. Under Tinder’s terms, if you do not cancel in time, the subscription renews at the full price disclosed at the time of purchase. Section 8a on purchases through external services says more precisely: if you received a discounted promotional offer, your price may rise after the initial period under the terms of that offer.

So the first period may cost less than the next. Since under the terms the full price is disclosed at purchase, you can see it before you pay. Look for two figures on the payment screen: what you pay now and what the renewal will cost.

If you want Gold for one period only, the easiest way is to cancel right after buying. According to Tinder’s help page you can use a cancelled subscription until the end of the paid period, and under the terms it will not renew when the current period ends. That way you do not have to remember a date, and no renewal charge comes.

If you do want to continue, set a reminder a couple of days before the period ends. According to the App Store description the renewal is charged in the last 24 hours, so cancelling on the last day of the period may be too late.

Alternatives to Tinder — what Finnish services do differently

Finnish suggestions also include «tinder vaihtoehdot» (Tinder alternatives) and «tinder vai joku muu» (Tinder or something else). A comparison is fair only on the same measures. So we compare three things anyone can check: how payment renews, what is said about the price before registering, and what the terms say about getting money back. We do not compare the services’ own user numbers, because they cannot be checked from outside.

Tinder’s strengths first, because they are real. Basic use is free, it has a lot of users, and its refund term is clearer for an EU subscriber than those of the two Finnish services below. Its weaknesses are about payment: the subscription renews by itself, the price varies from user to user, and no price list is published.

E-kontakti sells fixed membership periods that do not renew automatically and publishes its prices openly: on 18 September 2026 a month cost 34.90 € with a photo on your profile. Creating a profile is free; messaging is paid. Its terms of use, which are City Digital’s shared terms, do however say that the user has no right of withdrawal under the Consumer Protection Act. We set the wording of the term and of the law side by side on the separate E-kontakti page.

Seuraajokaiselle sells usage time that does not renew by itself. Prices on 30 September 2026 were 15.00 € for 30 days, 20.00 € for 60 days and 30.00 € for 180 days, and registration is free. Under its terms, the right of withdrawal ends if you log in to your account after buying.

Suomi24 Treffit is the closest to Tinder’s model. Basic features are free, and Treffit Plus is sold both as fixed periods and as a rolling subscription: on 18 September 2026 a month cost 16.95 € and the rolling subscription 14.95 € per 30 days.

E-kontakti and Seuraajokaiselle are our partners; Suomi24 Treffit is not. None of them is best for everyone. If you want to pay once and not have to remember to cancel, a fixed period is safer. If you want to try a service with lots of users for free, free Tinder is a strong option. You can compare prices in the price comparison and with the price calculator.

What to check before you pay for Tinder

Six things that take a couple of minutes and can save you tens of euros:

  • Where you pay: the App Store, Google Play or tinder.com. It decides where you cancel and where you ask for a refund.
  • Price and period: take a screenshot of the payment screen.
  • Renewal price: if you pay a promotional price, check what the next period costs.
  • Order number: keep the confirmation email. The letters MK, GPA or TNDR at the start show where you bought.
  • Refund deadline: mark in your calendar the day until which a full refund is possible under the terms — 14 days from the start of the subscription.
  • Renewal reminder: at least two days before the period ends, if you do not cancel straight away.

Frequently asked

How much does Tinder Gold cost in 2026?

Tinder does not publish a price list, and the price varies by user. On the Finnish App Store on 30 September 2026 Tinder Gold had three prices: 13.99 €, 16.49 € and 27.49 €. The list does not state the period, so the exact price and period only show on the payment screen.

Why is my Tinder price different from my friend’s?

Under Tinder’s terms its pricing varies based on several factors, and promotional prices can vary by, for example, region, period length, past purchases and account activity. According to the European Commission, in 2024 Tinder committed to say clearly when a discount is personalised by automated means.

Is Tinder free?

Basic use is free. Plus, Gold and Platinum are paid subscriptions that renew automatically, and Boosts and Super Likes are sold on top. According to Google Play the app contains ads; ad-free swiping comes with Plus.

How do I cancel Tinder Gold?

Cancel where you bought it. On iPhone: Settings > your name > Subscriptions > Tinder > Cancel Subscription. On Android: Google Play > profile icon > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions > Tinder. If you bought at tinder.com: profile icon > payment account settings. Do it at least a day before the period ends.

Is my subscription cancelled if I delete the app or my Tinder account?

No. According to Tinder’s help page, deleting the app or the account does not cancel the subscription, and according to Google’s help a subscription is not cancelled even if you uninstall the app. Cancel the subscription first and delete the account afterwards.

Can I get my money back from Tinder?

Under section 8d of Tinder’s terms, a subscriber living in the EU is entitled to a full refund within 14 days of the subscription starting. Under the terms, Boosts and Super Likes are not refunded.

How do I know where my subscription was bought?

From the order number in the confirmation email. According to Tinder’s help page, MK means Apple, GPA means Google Play and TNDR means tinder.com or a direct card payment in the Android app.

Tinder or E-kontakti — which is better?

They are different products. Basic Tinder is free, has many users and its terms promise an EU subscriber a full refund within 14 days, but the subscription renews by itself and the price varies. E-kontakti sells fixed periods that do not renew and publishes its prices, but messaging is paid and its terms say there is no right of withdrawal. E-kontakti is our partner. Compare the prices of both before you pay.
