Dating site prices 2026
Monthly price, the 12-month total, and how easily you can get out.
The monthly price on display at a Finnish dating service is almost never the amount that leaves your card. In August 2026 Deitti.net shows 7.90 euros a month on the annual tariff but charges 94.80 euros at once; Suomi24 Treffit, on its rolling subscription, shows 14.95 euros for 30 days and charges exactly 14.95. The tariff that looks almost half the price demands more than six times as much in the first payment. Work out two figures before you pay: what goes today, and what twelve months come to.
What Finnish services cost in August 2026
Figures below are from the services’ own pages on 21 August 2026. Affiliate rankings are deliberately not a source here: their numbers go stale and bend towards the commission.
Suomi24 Treffit: two weeks 11.95 euros, a month 16.95, three months 32.95. Separately, a rolling subscription at 14.95 euros for 30 days. No six-month or annual tariff exists.
E-kontakti: two weeks 24.90 euros, a month 34.90, six months 89.90 — with a photograph in the profile. Without one, dearer: 34.90, 44.90 and 99.90 respectively. No annual tariff.
Deitti.net: a month 17.90, three months 14.90, six months 9.90, a year 7.90 — but each of those is a price per month, not the amount of the payment.
Note the spread: a month costs 16.95 to 34.90 euros depending on the platform, twice as much at one end as the other. And no link between price and audience size is verifiable: the profile counts services quote rest on nothing.
Why the monthly price and the charge diverge
Here sits the central discrepancy of the market, and it rests not on a lie but on how a number is presented.
When a service writes “Vuosi 7,90 €/kk”, it is telling the truth: divide 94.80 by twelve and you get exactly 7.90. Unsaid is the rest: all 94.80 euros leave today in one payment.
Hence a paradox worth seeing in figures. The smallest price on the Finnish market, 7.90, means a charge of 94.80 euros; and 14.95 — the dearest of the tariffs where the displayed price and the charge coincide — means exactly 14.95. The first payment differs more than sixfold, in favour of the tariff that looks dearer.
The Consumer Ombudsman states the requirement unambiguously: when a contract is sold for a fixed term, a monthly price is not enough — the total for the whole term must be stated. Separately: marketing must show the full price including taxes.
For comparison, those that do show the payment amount. Suomi24 writes “3 kuukautta 32,95 €”, E-kontakti “6 kuukautta 89,90 €”: both are totals for the period. Deitti.net gives it recalculated per month. Whether each presentation meets the Ombudsman’s requirement is for KKV and the courts to assess, not us. What matters practically: deriving a monthly price from a total is easy; people rarely do it the other way round.
What a year actually comes to
The second figure to work out before paying, and it often surprises more than the first.
Deitti.net on the annual tariff: 94.80 euros for twelve months, in one payment. By the total, the cheapest year on the Finnish market.
Suomi24 Treffit in three-month packages: four at 32.95 come to 131.80 euros. On the rolling subscription at 14.95 per 30 days a year costs roughly 182 euros, because a year holds more than twelve thirty-day cycles.
E-kontakti in two six-month packages with a photograph: 179.80 euros. Without one, 199.80.
So the gap between the cheapest and the dearest year on a Finnish platform is roughly twofold, 95 to 200 euros. It is decided not by the quality of the service but by the package length chosen, and by whether you noticed the difference between a price per month and a payment.
A word on rolling subscriptions. Services differ on how long access lasts after you press cancel: to the end of the paid period, or of the next one. Between those wordings lies one billing cycle. We have not tested actual behaviour — that needs a paid account. One practical conclusion: reread that line on the payment screen before confirming, and build in one more cycle.
Where the price is not shown at all
A category of its own, and the concealment is itself information.
Victoria Milan, C-date and EliteSingles show no price before registration. Tinder lists its Plus, Gold and Platinum tiers with no prices at all. Bumble publishes none.
For the apps the reason is partly technical: price depends on country and app store, and often differs between users. For a buyer the result is the same — no comparison before registering.
Practical conclusion: if the price cannot be seen without entering an email, count it a separate mark in a comparison. Not because the service is necessarily bad, but because you cannot decide on a figure you were not shown.
Redirects belong here too. The domains victoriamilan.fi, c-date.fi and eliittikumppani.fi forward to international sites, so the contract and the payment will not be Finnish. Victoria Milan’s footer names Nextlove Limited in Malta.
What the law requires about price and about ending a contract
Three rules, and all three work in your favour.
First, price. The requirement to state the full price for the whole term, not only per month, is set out in the Ombudsman’s position directly and without qualification.
Second, the notice period. In Finland it cannot be unreasonably long: KKV treats two weeks as the benchmark and one month as the maximum. Not a recommendation — in November 2024 the Market Court, in decision MAO:667/2024, fined Verisure Oy 100 000 euros for precisely a three-month period, finding the term unfair to consumers.
Third, the withdrawal function. Since 19 June 2026, under EU Directive 2023/2673, a service whose contract is concluded through a web interface must provide one. The Finnish text requires it marked “Peruuta sopimus tästä”, or equally unambiguously, in legible form. Note what it covers, though: the KKV defines it as a functionality through which a consumer exercises their statutory right of withdrawal — those fourteen days. Terminating a subscription already running is a separate rule: under Consumer Ombudsman decision KKV/981/14.08.01.05/2025, termination must be arranged at least in the channels where contracts are concluded.
And the fourteen-day right of withdrawal. For digital services it is lost only when both conditions are met: you gave explicit prior consent to start immediately, and agreed that the right lapses as a result. With no warning before payment, the right stands.
How to stop a charge if you are already subscribed
The order matters, and the most popular advice is the wrong one.
First, cancel in writing with the service itself. In writing, not in a chat window: you need correspondence you can attach. Keep a copy or a screenshot of the confirmation.
Reissuing the card does not help, and the payment systems document this themselves. Visa has Account Updater: on reissue the bank passes the new number and expiry date to the merchant automatically. Mastercard calls the same thing Automatic Billing Updater, covering even lost and stolen cards. The subscription simply moves across.
What works is the bank. The Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority states it plainly: a bank must refund unauthorised charges on a debit or credit card. It may not demand that you settle with the seller first, and it is the bank that must prove you consented.
If that fails too, there is consumer advice — Kuluttajaneuvonta on 09 5110 1200, Monday to Wednesday 10–12 and Thursday 12–14. After that the Consumer Disputes Board, Kuluttajariitalautakunta; there is no fee.
Costs that are not in the subscription price
The subscription is not the only line, and the rest are usually missing from the pricing page.
Micropayments inside the service. Boosting a profile, priority display, seeing who has taken an interest, undoing an accidental action. Each is small, which is why a month gathers more of them than anyone remembers. Easy to check: take last month’s statement and add up everything for the service, not only the subscription.
Currency conversion. If the operator is foreign and the charge is not in euros, the bank adds its own conversion mark-up. Minor on one payment, noticeable across a year.
The app store mark-up. Paying inside an app is often dearer than the same subscription bought on the service’s site, because the platform’s commission sits in the price. The difference can be substantial, and nobody warns you.
Automatic renewal after a trial. Formally not a separate cost but a subscription continuing; in a budget it arrives as a surprise, as trial access for a euro or two turns into the full price with no new decision from you.
And last: paid features that work only while everyone else keeps buying them. Boosting a profile is zero-sum: when the majority buys it, nobody gains and the service earns twice.
Work the budget out from the statement, not the pricing page. It is the only source showing the real amount.
How to calculate before you pay
A two-minute method that closes almost every problem in this subject.
Find the amount charged today. If the page shows only a price per month, multiply by the months in the tariff. That product is the real price of the button.
Work out the year: what twelve months come to if you do nothing and everything renews on current terms.
Check automatic renewal. If it is on, find the cancellation before you pay. Not found in two minutes means not found later either.
Look up the notice period in the terms. More than a month is unlawful.
And last: set those two figures against how much you are willing to lose if the service does not suit. Not willing to pay — willing to lose. A different amount, and the one that answers which tariff to take.

Frequently asked
How much does a dating site cost in Finland?
In August 2026 a month of access costs 16.95 € (Suomi24 Treffit) to 34.90 € (E-kontakti) depending on the platform. Deitti.net displays from 7.90 € a month on the annual tariff but charges 94.80 € in one payment. Tinder, Bumble, Victoria Milan, C-date and EliteSingles publish no price at all.
Why does the cheapest tariff turn out to be the most expensive?
Because the display price is recalculated per month while the charge covers the whole term. A 7.90 €/month tariff means a one-off charge of 94.80 €; a 14.95 €/month tariff means 14.95 €. The first payment differs more than sixfold, in favour of the one that looks dearer.
Must a service show the full price for the whole term?
Yes. The Consumer Ombudsman’s position is direct: when a contract is sold for a fixed term, a monthly price is not enough — the total for the whole term must be stated. Marketing must separately show the full price including taxes.
What does a year come to?
From 94.80 € (Deitti.net, annual tariff) to roughly 200 € (E-kontakti, two six-month packages without a photo). Suomi24 in three-month packages comes to 131.80 €; on the rolling subscription about 182 €, because a year holds more than twelve thirty-day cycles.
How do I stop a charge on my card?
Cancel in writing with the service and keep a copy, then a claim to your bank. KKV holds that a bank must refund unauthorised card charges, may not send you to the seller first, and must itself prove you consented. Reissuing the card does not help: Visa Account Updater and Mastercard ABU pass new details to the merchant automatically.
What notice period is lawful?
KKV treats two weeks as the benchmark and one month as the maximum. Three months is unlawful: in November 2024 the Market Court, in decision MAO:667/2024, imposed a penalty of 100 000 euros for such a term, finding it unfair to consumers.
What costs are not included in the subscription price?
Micropayments inside the service (boosting a profile, seeing who has taken an interest, undoing an action), currency conversion with a foreign operator, the app store mark-up — the same subscription on the service’s site is often cheaper — and automatic renewal after a trial. Work the budget out from a month of bank statements, not the pricing page.
Why do some services not show a price before registration?
For the apps the reason is partly technical: price depends on country and app store. The result is the same — no comparison before registering. Count a hidden price as a separate mark in a comparison: you cannot decide on a figure you were not shown.
Can I get money back for a subscription I never used?
Sometimes. For digital services the 14-day right of withdrawal is lost only when both conditions are met: you gave explicit consent to start immediately AND were warned in advance that the right would lapse. With no warning before payment, the right stands — check the confirmation email and the payment screen.
Is a subscription cheaper on the site than in the app?
Often yes. An in-app purchase has the platform’s commission built into the price, and the same subscription on the service’s site frequently costs less. Nobody warns you about this. The other side: an app store payment leaves a more discreet line on your statement.
What do I do if a service charged me after I cancelled?
Write a formal complaint with dates and amounts, attaching the cancellation confirmation, and file a claim with your bank in parallel. KKV holds that a bank must refund unauthorised card charges, may not send you to the seller first, and that the bank itself must prove you consented.
