Why this site exists

In Finnish search results for dating services, the top places are held almost entirely by affiliate listicles. They are all built the same way: the writer earns a commission on a click-through, the size of that commission decides the ranking, and the phrase “best site of the year” rests on no verifiable criterion at all.

Meanwhile nobody answers the questions people actually ask. For years discussion forums have asked whether paid services operate honestly, and no Finnish editorial site has gone through those claims one by one.

That is where the idea came from: write what can be checked, and say what we do not know. Where there is no data, the page says “not confirmed” rather than giving a plausible-sounding figure.

Who does this

The site is published by a company registered in Finland. The business ID, home municipality and email address are at the end of this page and match the trade register entry. The company name and full address can be looked up by business ID in the PRH open data, free of charge and without registering.

These details are published deliberately, even though that is not the usual choice for an affiliate site. The law obliges a service provider to keep such information continuously available, but it is not only about the law: a site that writes about money and about fraud while not saying who is behind it is a questionable construction. We would rather be checkable.

We are not affiliated with any of the services we write about: we do not work for them, we are not part of their organisation, and we take no instructions from them about content. The affiliate relationship is limited to a commission on click-throughs and is described on its own page.

Material is signed with the site name rather than with authors’ names. This is a deliberate choice, and we name its weakness ourselves: a real person’s name would be a stronger signal of trust. In exchange we give what can be checked regardless of authorship — a source under every fact, and the criteria by which we can be re-checked.

How the site is funded

By affiliate commissions. If you go through a button in a commercial section and register with a service, that service pays us. For you the price is the same as going there directly.

The notice about this is on every commercial page above the text, before the first link — not in small print at the bottom.

The safety and privacy sections are not monetised. Not a single affiliate link, not a single button — and that is written into the code, not into a promise.

We do not take money for a place in a comparison, we do not publish commissioned articles, and we do not sell banner advertising.

What we do not do

We do not compile lists of “best sites”: “best” is not a property of a service but the fit between a service and a particular need.

We do not give star ratings. A rating that cannot be reproduced is no different from an advertising promise.

We do not publish prices we have not seen on the service’s own page, and we always mark the check date.

We do not promise results. A subscription unlocks features, not people, and no service can guarantee replies.

We do not collect your data. There is no registration, there are no forms, and answers given in the tools never leave your browser.
